Washington School District
Washington Elementary School
School Year 2026-2027
Any Washington resident with a child who will be five years old by September 30, 2026 will be eligible to enroll in the Kindergarten program. Please register online at https://hdsd.powerschool.com/public/. Because all students are in the same classroom, screenings are conducted in the fall. You will receive information about summer kindergarten programming and meet and greet dates with the kindergarten teacher before the end of the current school year.
The Washington School District is accepting applications for anticipated Early Learning Program openings for the 2026-2027 school year. The program is available to children who will reach the age of 3 or 4 by September 30, 2026 and are a resident of Washington. Early Learning Program screenings will be scheduled for June and placement will be announced within two weeks from the screening date. Please apply online at https://hdsd.powerschool.com/public/.
A copy of your child’s immunization record, birth certificate, your child’s most recent physical examination as well as proof of residency will be needed at the time of registration.

2026-2027 Preschool Lottery and Open House
Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School will accept applications for the Preschool lottery for the 2026-2027 school year. Please pre-register at https://hdsd.powerschool.com/public/ and then pick up a registration packet at the Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School Main Office 3/30/26-4/10/26 between 8am-4pm.
Children who reside in the towns of Hillsboro, Deering or Windsor and who will be three or four years of age on or before September 30, 2026 are eligible for the preschool lottery. Preschool placement will be announced by the end of June and any additional openings will be filled using a waitlist process.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026 there will be a Preschool Parent Information Night at 5:00 pm at HDES. A typical preschool day will be discussed, followed by a question and answer period.
